Awards for the winners and also the first S L Puram Sadanandan Puraskaram were given away on August 5, 2007 in a function held at Municipal Town Hall, Manchery.
Swati Sangeetha Puraskara Samrpanam -2006 was held at Thiruvananthapuram on September 11, 2007. Honourable Chief Minister Shri V SAchuthadandan presented the award to Shri Neyyattinkara Vasudevan in the function presided over by Shri M A Baby, Honourable Minister of Cultural Affairs.
Shadkala Govinda Marar Sangeethotsavam:
organised by the Akademi with the co-operation of the Shadkala Govinda Marar Smaraka Kalasamithi was held at Ramamangalam on November 16, 17 and 18, 2007. Noted musician Neyveli Santhana Gopalan inaugurated the festival in a meeting presided over by Akademi Chairman Bharath Murali.
Amateur Drama Competition :
The south zone competition was held on December 10, 11 and 12, 2007 at Neeravil Prakash Auditorium. Plays Pravachaka and Chayagrahanam were selected for the state competition.
Central zone competition was held on December 17, 18 and 19, 2007 at Udyogamandal, Aluva.
North zone competition was held on January 1, 2, 3 and 4 at Kallachi.
The state level competitions were held on January 19, 20 and 21 at Udinoor, Kasargode.
Pension for indigent artistes:
195 applications received by the Akademi and 306 applications received from the government were recommended and forwarded to the government.
Kalasamithis
92 Kalasamithis were given recognition by the Akademi during this period.
Stipend for training
125 students were given stipend for three years in the field of Bharatanatyam, Mohiniyattom, Vocal music, Mridangam, Violin and Vina.
11 students of the School of Drama, Thrissur were given scholarship for studies at the B T A level and two students of Sree Sankaracharya University of Sanskkrit, Kalady for M T A studies.
Medical assistance
65 artistes were given financial assistance for medical treatment.
Travel concessions for artistes
5909 artistes enjoyed travel concessions using the certificates issued by the Akademi.
Kerala Sangeetha Nataka Akademi Theatre Troupe
The Theatre Troupe was formed by the Akademi with a view to bringing theatre close to the people and also to promoting the activities of the village kala samithis. The two plays produced were Edassery’s Koottukrishi directed by Pramod Payyannur and Dario Fo’s Supermarket directed by J Shailaja. The two plays continue to be staged both inside and outside Kerala. |
