Dance with expressions one of the traditional and oldest dance forms from Bengal, DANCE WITH EXPRESSIONS was performed at Academy theatre on September, 17 , 2008. Smt. Parvathy bovul staged the dance.

KERALA STATE PROFFESSIONAL DRAMA AWARD - 2007

The state professional drama award of 2007 , S.N. Puram Sadanandan drama award was given to Smt. Nilambur Aysha. The undying attitude and growing flames of this actress was felicitated with an award in the year 2008 September, 18 at Kunnamkulam Muncipal town hall by Hon: Minister for Cultural affairs Mr. M. A . Baby. And after that the 2007 proffessional drama awards were also distributed subsequently at the same function.

INTENSIVE THEATRE WORKSHOP

Under the auspices of Kerala Sangeetha Nataka Academy and National School of Drama Regional Resource Center jointly held a camp for the inner studies of Drama and Arts from November, 20 of 2008 to January, 03 of 2009. The camp’s director was Mr. M.K. Raina, Actor & Director. The 22 Nos.of participants who had participated in the camp were from the different districts of Kerala. In this camp the topics discussed and played were acting, direction, make up , expressions and all other subjects coming under the drama were looked upon. The acts played during the camp were Basheer’s NEELAVELICHAM, Santhosh Echikanam KOMALA, J.M. Singe RIDERS TO THE SEA were performed.

INTERNATIONAL THEATRE FESTIVAL, 2008

Drama artistes and participants from the countries like Chinese Operas, Bangladesh, Pakistan, Iran, Sri Lanka and India participated for the first time in the history of Academy since the Academy’s formation at Trichur in the year 2008 December 22 to December, 31. Short Dramas, Seminars, interviews were also executed during this festival.

As usual the programmes enlisted under the aegis of the Academy like Amateur Proffessional Drama competitions, shadkala sangeetholsavam are being performed regularly.
